Creating More than Good Memories

Another Great Post From: http://theaju.net/?p=7

Memory foam mattress is not your ordinary bed. It gives you comfort. It gives your body the support it needs during its rest. Do you know why it can provide those? You may be in a confused state with everything that you’ve been hearing about this product.

But really, this mattress lives up to its name. Why memory, you may ask. This is for the reason that it remembers your body form and contour and adjusts easily into it to make you more comfortable as you sleep. And when you get up, it also regains its original form so that you can easily lay on it again come the next time that you have to go to sleep.

But more than the comfort and support that this intelligent mattress can give you, this also relieves you from certain body aches and pains. It has proves its effectiveness for chronic pains especially in the back area, in the lower back, in the joints and on your neck.

Most people have this dilemma with their mattresses. It is either they’ve got a bed that is too soft or too hard for their own comfort. As a result, instead of being well rested, they experience more and more body pains after they have woken up from their not so comfortable slumber.More...

Memory Foam Mattress Accessories

10. September 2008

This great post was taken from: http://theaju.net/?p=11

To relieve pain, snoring and other sleep problems, there are also memory foam mattress accessories that you can buy and here are some of them.

The first is the sleep mask. By putting this inside a dark blue cover, you will be able to cover you eyes as this conforms to the exact shape of your face.

For those who are on the road and behind the wheel, they won’t feel in pain the back anymore when they use the memory foam car comforter as this supports the spine here you need it most.

Another thing you can use when you drive or when you are on a plane is the transit pillow. You have probably seen inflatable versions of these being sold in the market but unlike those models, this one also uses the same material that you can find in mattresses. The shape cradles the neck and holds the pillow in place.

At home, you can use the bed wedge as this provides additional support when you are watching television, reading the newspaper or for mothers who are breastfeeding their babies.

The bed wedge can also be used for those working in the office. But the lumbar support is much better as this fits perfectly to the curve of your spine as a result of the variable height adjustments, the anatomical shape and the pressure relieving properties.

If you can’t afford to buy a mattress, you can buy bed back support which is very ideal for women who are pregnant. Similar to this is the topper and although quite thin, it can still provide relief and support to the lumbar region.More...

Memory Foam Mattress that you can use

8. September 2008

Memory foam mattresses have become quite common nowadays. A memory foam mattress is unlike any other ordinary foam mattresses out there. In fact, their development began with the US space program, among other things. It is due to research done by NASA that went into the development of the memory foam mattress.

The memory foam was first designed by NASA in order to help astronauts cope up with the high pressure that can be caused by extreme G-force that occurs when the space shuttle take off for space. Although it has not been used for the space program, the research and discoveries that were made on the memory foam was able to help provide benefits on the medical field instead.

Memory foam is made out of polyurethane combines wit additional chemicals in  order to add to the foam’s viscosity level. This will help increase the foam’s density. The chemicals used on the polyurethane also allow it to become firmer in cooler temperatures and become softer when warm. This way, the foam reacts to body heat and allows the foam to mould itself to the shape of the body in a matter of minutes. A memory foam that is less dense is more pressure sensitive and allows the foam to mould to the shape of the body more quickly.More...

Memory Foam Beds

5. September 2008

Density is the most commonly talked about attribute of a memory foam mattress. In general, higher quality beds are made from higher density foam and shoppers look to density as a way of assessing quality in a mattress. High density memory foam beds are more expensive because they have more foam per bed, but they offer better support and more durability.

According to the definition from Wikipedia, Memory foam is made from polyurethane with additional chemicals that add to its viscosity level, thereby increasing its density. It has been gaining popularity in recent years seeing the declining manufacturing costs.

Although some manufacturers claim that the memory foam is good for everyone, it is not entirely true. First of all, some people just never have their body fit to the memory foam mattress. Secondly, in some cases, the foam used may not be genuine in order to sell it at a lower price.More...

Delta Sleep, Deep Space and the Memory Foam Mattress

4. September 2008

With nearly 1 million UK residents and all of 70 million US residents seeking help for sleep problems every year, our public roads, schools and workplaces are full of people feeling irritable, groggy or depressed because they simply aren't getting the rest they need. If someone you care for has chronic sleep complaints, the gift of a memory foam mattress can bring about the deep, delta sleep all of us crave to be feeling our best.

Delta sleep is easier with this gift from deep space - the visco-elastic memory foam that was invented by NASA in the 1970's to cushion astronauts by absorbing the shocks of space travel. Memory foam has now become a top choice for the very best, most comfortable mattresses. In deep, stage 4 delta sleep, our brainwaves are slow and restful and the human growth hormone HGH is released to repair worn and tired body tissues. Humans cannot reach this stage of restorative sleep if they aren't resting easy or if they are suffering from certain health problems, and millions have switched to memory mattresses for relief from the stresses that have kept them awake too long.More...

Choosing Which Bed? Choosing Which Pillow

4. September 2008

This great post was taken from :  http://rue309.wordpress.com/2008/09/03/which-bed-which-pillow/

Recently, I have been asked by several patients which bed is right for them, or which bed is the best one to buy. The question also arises from time to time about when it is time to replace a mattress. "Which pillow is the right pillow?" is also a question that comes up quite frequently. Such simple questions rarely have a simple answer. In order to answer these questions, taking a look at what is available in the marketplace would be a good idea.

There are generally four types of beds available today. They are the traditional coil spring mattress, waterbeds, air beds, and foam beds. Each bed has distinct advantages, and some have disadvantages.

The Coil Spring Mattress

The traditional coil spring mattress can be bought in varying degrees of firmness. Soft, moderate firmness, firm, extra firm versions are available, many with or without a pillow top. At any given price point, the quality of the mattress made by any major manufacturer is about the same. One company simply cannot make a bed that is four times better than a competitor at the same price. When it comes to the traditional coil spring mattress, the perceived difference regarding which is better is a matter of personal preference. In other words, what is best for one person may not be at all good for another person.

Even the best coil spring mattresses last only about seven years. The primary determining factor of how long the mattress will last is the weight of the person sleeping on the bed. All other factors being equal, a 5′4" person who weighs 110 pounds will get a much longer life out of a mattress than a person who is 5"10" and weighs 260 pounds. If you can see or feel an indentation in the mattress, it is time to replace it. It does not matter whether the mattress is one year old, or seven, seeing or feeling an indentation is evidence that it is time to replace it. Seeing a depression in a $2000.00 mattress that is six months old is clear evidence of poor quality, regardless of who manufactured it.

Interestingly, the manufacturers of coil spring mattresses have added a memory foam option to several of their models. This appears to be somewhat of an endorsement of the true memory foam mattresses, discussed below.More...
